Dr. Adnan Ameer is a specialist in General Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy Services. He takes pride in getting to know his patients and understanding their unique individual needs and concerns. He values his patients’ time and maximizes efficiencies to expeditiously improve and restore their digestive disorders to its ideal health to improve the quality of life while making the experience comfortable.
Dr. Ameer received his Bachelors’ degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from UC Berkeley in 2005. He earned his medical degree from RUSM in 2009 and completed his General Surgery Internship at Kern Medical Center in 2010. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at UC San Francisco (Fresno) in 2014, where he was Chief Resident.
Dr. Ameer went on to complete his fellowship in Gastroenterology/Hepatology at UC San Francisco (Fresno) in 2017 and was Chief Fellow. He completed an additional fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy and Endosonography at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in 2018, earning recognition as Interventional Fellow. Prior to joining PHMG – Graybill, Dr. Ameer served as the Division Director of UCSF Fresno Gastroenterology and Hepatology Division and its Gastroenterology fellowship, and was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCSF. His special interests include colon cancer screening, endoscopic mucosal resections (EMR) of large polyps, GERD, Barrett’s esophagus, pancreatico-biliary diseases, gastrointestinal malignancy and small bowel diseases.
Dr. Ameer is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
